Typical PPF prices in Michigan
Based on 2026 price guides from Michigan shops:
| Coverage | Compact / sedan | SUV / crossover | Pickup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partial front | $900 to $1,800 | $1,200 to $2,200 | $1,200 to $2,500 |
| Full front | $1,700 to $2,800 | $2,000 to $3,500 | $2,100 to $3,500 |
| Track pack / extended front | $2,500 to $4,000 | $3,000 to $4,800 | $3,000 to $5,000 |
| Full body | $5,000 to $7,500 | $6,000 to $9,000+ | $6,000 to $9,000+ |
Exotic and very complex vehicles usually start higher and need an inspection before anyone can quote them.
Matte or stealth film usually costs more than clear gloss film. None of the guides we found publishes a separate figure, so we don't list one.
What each coverage level includes
Partial front: front bumper, part of the hood and fenders, mirrors. Leaves a visible film line across the hood.
Full front: full bumper, full hood, full fenders, mirrors. No line across the hood.
Track pack / extended: full front plus rocker panels, A-pillars and the roof edge.
Full body: every painted panel.
What changes the price
Coverage. The more panels, the more film and the more labor.
Vehicle size and shape. Big bumpers with lots of vents, sensors and sharp creases take much longer than simple shapes.
Film brand and line. Premium films and matte films cost more.
Paint correction. Film locks in the paint's condition. If the paint has swirls or scratches, correcting them first adds to the price.
Edge work. Wrapping edges around panels and removing parts like badges or lights for a cleaner install takes more time than cutting the film short.
Add-ons. Door cups, door edges, headlights and the rear bumper top are often priced separately.
Is PPF worth the cost?
Compare it with what you're avoiding. Repainting a hood or bumper costs money, the new paint rarely matches the factory finish perfectly, and a repainted car can be worth less at trade-in. On a leased car, chips on the front end often show up as charges at return.
For a car you'll keep for years, or one with expensive or hard to match paint, full front or full body usually makes sense. For an older car you'll sell soon, it may not.
What to compare between quotes
- Which film brand and product line?
- Gloss or matte?
- Exactly which panels, and where do the edges end?
- Are edges wrapped or cut short?
- Is paint correction included?
- What does the film manufacturer's warranty cover?
PPF cost FAQ
Why is full body so much more than full front?
More than double the panels, plus doors, rockers and the roof, which all take careful edge work.
Is partial front a good deal?
It's the lowest cost option, but the visible line across the hood bothers some people. Full front is the usual middle ground.
Can I start with full front and add more later?
Yes. Panels can be added later, though film from different years may look slightly different side by side.
Does PPF on a Tesla cost more?
It depends on the model. Bumpers with many sensors and complex shapes take more time. Call for a quote.
These ranges come from price guides published by Michigan shops in 2026. They're meant to give you a sense of the market, not a price for your car. The only way to know what your car will cost is a quote based on the vehicle, the film, the coverage and the condition of the paint.
