Typical car wrap prices in Michigan
| Wrap | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Full color change, most passenger cars | $2,500 to $6,000 |
| Trucks and SUVs | Toward the top of that range |
| Premium finishes (chrome, some color shift films) | Can go above $8,000 |
| Partial wraps (roof, hood) | Around $1,200 and up, depending on coverage |
| Individual parts (mirror caps, spoilers) | Roughly $300 to $700 |
Chrome delete pricing depends heavily on how much trim the car has and whether parts come off. None of the guides we found publishes a range, so we don't list one.
What changes the price
Vehicle size and shape. Bumpers, vents and deep body lines take much more time than flat panels.
The film. Cast vinyl from major makers costs more than cheaper calendered vinyl, and it's the right choice for color change wraps because it holds its shape on curves. Matte, satin and especially chrome and color shift films cost more.
Door jambs. Wrapping inside the door frames hides the original color when doors open, but it adds a lot of time.
Parts removal. Taking off handles, badges, lights and trim gives cleaner edges and costs more labor.
Paint condition. Chips or failing clear coat may need to be addressed before wrapping.
Wrap vs paint on price
A quality color change repaint can cost more than a wrap, and it's permanent. A cheap repaint costs less but often looks it, and it can hurt resale value. A wrap keeps the factory paint underneath, which is a big reason people choose it for leased and newer cars.
What to compare between quotes
- Which film brand and line?
- Are door jambs included?
- Which parts get removed?
- How are edges and seams handled?
- What does the film's warranty cover, and what does the installer cover?
Car wrap cost FAQ
Why is a wrap more expensive on my SUV?
More surface, more complex bumpers, and often more trim to work around.
Is a partial wrap much cheaper?
Yes. A roof or hood is a small fraction of a full wrap.
Does a matte wrap cost more than gloss?
Usually a little. Matte films typically cost more than standard gloss.
These ranges come from price guides published by Michigan shops in 2025 and 2026 and a national 2026 guide for individual parts. They're meant to give you a sense of the market, not a price for your car. The only way to know what your car will cost is a quote based on the vehicle, the film and the coverage.
